WOODS CLAN LORE
We stand for equality and respect.
You get what you give!
LOCATION AND HOME
Located in the center of Saradié where fields are filled with tall grass. Where mountains are covered in forests and blooming flowers. Where nature is one with its surroundings lies a well organized society: The woods clan. Known for their kindness and connection to the earth.
The Woods Clan has mastered the art of living in harmony with nature, using towering, ancient trees as their homes. They reside in high, round-shaped huts built among the branches, all connected by carefully crafted wooden bridges and platforms. Staircases are carved directly into the trees, and larger trees are shaped into stronger, more spacious homes and communal areas. Their methods of construction are considered extraordinary, as the trees do not die from these alterations but continue to grow around them.
The clan makes extensive use of natural recycling, repurposing nearly everything the forest provides. Around their main living area stands a low wooden wall, roughly two meters tall, designed to keep outsiders from wandering into their settlement. Several guarded gates provide controlled access to the capital. The Woods Clan capital Elar’thyn is located nearly in the centre of the continent of Saradié. The climate is warm and humid, resembling that of a rainforest, with frequent rainfall. At the heart of the capital lies a massive, ancient tree that fell long ago. Its hollowed trunk has been carved into a vast interior hall used for gatherings, celebrations, rituals, and important meetings. The enormous tree stump surrounding it now serves as a central plaza, frequently used for dances, ceremonies, and public events. The huts of the clan leader and council are located close to this central area, allowing them to gather quickly in times of emergency.
Beyond the central plaza, the rest of the settlement consists of countless tree-hung huts connected by bridges, forming a vast network above the forest floor. Most food storage is kept on the ground below, hidden within small, well-camouflaged huts.
Elar’thyn is situated between two major rivers: the Nari River to the east and the Rava River to the west. The surrounding land is rich and fertile, allowing fruit trees and bushes to grow abundantly. The clan has fully embraced this advantage, cultivating entire groves and fields of fruit-bearing trees. These resources are used to feed the clan and are also exported to other regions.
Not far from the capital, the land rises into rocky mountain terrain marking the beginning of the Woods Clan’s mountainous territory. This area is home to most of their mines, providing valuable resources while remaining carefully maintained to avoid unnecessary harm to the surrounding environment.

CULTURE
Woods clan members are known for their kind nature. Family is very important to them, and they are very proud of that. The whole clan is most likely to hold a strong bond with each other one that cannot be matched with other clans. Children grow up in their huts guided by their parents, elders, or older siblings. At the age of six they are being brought to schools. These schools are usually given by elder Raqions who hold long old knowledge. On these schools they go on trips and study the nature as well as their elemental powers and how to use them. Their culture and history are presented to them as well as their religion. They truly make sure all children are gifted with the right knowledge. Most teaching also revolves around doing stuff. The Woods clan believes that the best method to learning is by doing rather than reading some old scrolls. This makes the Woods clan full of excellent workers.
Once the Raqion becomes fourteen they choose a career study. On these Career study they will specialize into one thing. This could be farming all the way to being a soldier. In this entire system Raqions are always given a choice. If they feel like they might have taken the wrong career they are always allowed to switch careers but will need to start over. It’s common for these Raqions to have more than one skill and to be interested in learning more.
As adults most Raqions will continue their path of their Career studies. Becoming farmer, miners, soldier, medic’s, hunters and more. Even as adults they can still switch careers if they have studied for it otherwise, they need to go back to studying. So, it’s not uncommon to see classes of adults roam around. The woods clan also has very excellent export system to trade as much with the other villages as well as clans who are deemed ally’s. Being in the middle gives them the benefit of being a big ally to most clans.
Even though Raqions of the Woods clan are seen as kind and peaceful folk, it doesn't hide the fact that this clan is heavily prepared for any battle. They do live in the middle of Saradié after all and therefore are huge prey to their surroundings clans. Having well trained fighters who can camouflage with their surroundings. Communicating through unique hand signs or plant types to not give away their locations. They might not have a high defense as there are no big walls are there to protect them from nature or other threats, but having their homes located this high up does give them an advantage to ground attacks. They are excellent climbers with a very well-built flexibility. Their fighting style is also one mainly based on distance and creating a space between their enemies and themselves. This clan is mainly a defensive fighter who only fights if felt threatened or challenged with no other escape.
CELEBRATION
The Woods clan celebrates, and event called: Zim Day. It’s a celebration in the start of the summer season. This day is all about releasing your Zim plant and celebrating their freedom and rebirth.
A Zim plant is a sort of plant that grows wildly in the territory of the wood’s clan due to its rich grounds. These plants may grow in the wild but are rare to find. There for most Zim plants are carefully farmed by a few Raqions specialized in farming them. Since a Zim plant is a very fragile plant and needs special care. These plants will grow from a small purple ball to a one and a half meter tall, purple, Soft fluffy pion rose like flower. The Zim plant takes three years to grow and once old enough the flower will start floating. Yet they can’t fly away since they are connected to their stem which holds onto the ground below.
So, on Zim Day all the Raqions will gather and release their Zim Plants into the air. As the sky will be filled with purple flowers that will slowly open up fully and bloom for a last time shedding their seeds and leaves everywhere for the process for growth to start again.
A huge picknick is held where music will be played and Raqions will dance and sing, covered in flowers and wearing crowns made of plants. It’s truly a wonder full sight to be seen. As Dusk falls, they will start lighting torches and gather to share stories from the past or things they think might yet come. At mid night they hold one prayer with everyone to thank their gods for their gifted lives.
The Woods Clan is also known as the birthplace of Isilya, a celebration of fertility, love, and emotional bonds. The origins of Isilya trace back to the old lands of Sarida, long before the fall that reshaped the clans.
According to legend, Isilya was once a Raqion blessed with the rare gift of weaving fate itself. She was said to spin the invisible ribbons of love and fertility, guiding Raqions toward their true partners. By gifting them ribbons whose colors matched their souls, Isilya ensured that those bound by her thread would share a love that endured for a lifetime. From her blessing, lasting unions were born, and love was said to flourish without betrayal or decay.
In honor of her gift, the Woods Clan along with parts of the Sun Clan transformed her legend into a celebration devoted to romance, connection, and shared affection.
Isilya is widely regarded as a day of confession and openness, during which emotions are shared freely and bonds between Raqions are strengthened. On this day, individuals are encouraged to confess unspoken feelings, express hidden love, and perform meaningful acts for their partners, family members, or those they hold dear. Sharing kindness and affection with others is considered an essential part of the celebration, reinforcing emotional honesty and communal harmony.
Ribbons play a central symbolic role throughout Isilya, representing the strings of fate believed to bind souls together. Wearing or exchanging ribbons is seen as a way of openly expressing one’s intentions and emotional state. Marriages, mating bonds, and long-term commitments formed on this day are believed to be especially blessed, with many claiming such unions bring enhanced love, good health, and lasting prosperity.
During Isilya, settlements come alive with warmth and vibrant color. Music fills communal spaces as dance gatherings are held in open areas, accompanied by large, shared meals. Baking plays an important role in the festivities, with sweets and celebratory foods prepared and exchanged among clan members. Raqions often give small gifts to one another, commonly food, handcrafted items, or flowers accompanied by written messages.
Ribbon colors worn during Isilya indicate a Raqion’s romantic status or intentions. Purple signifies a lack of interest in romantic pursuits, pink represents those who are single, red is worn by those seeking romance, white indicates an existing bond or relationship, and gold is reserved for those who are married. These ribbons allow Raqions to express themselves openly, guide social interactions, and uphold the spirit of honesty that defines the celebration.

RITUALS
The woods clan holds small rituals when a Raqion is wounded or sick. If it’s known that a Raqion might pass away their family will perform a Ritual that might help their soul reach their god. Most of their rituals are done using flowers, herbs and other nature-based substances. A clan leader is also crowned with the help of a Ritual. Sometimes even chosen with one.

SACRED PLACES
The Woods clan deem every part of nature as a Sacred place. However, there is one place that’s special to them. Somewhere located near the Nari River deep hidden in some overgrown area. There is a tree that luminates from its leaves. This tree is called the tree of life and is claimed to have roots going so deep into the ground it might as well be connected to every part of Saradié. There for the tree is considered a being of wisdom and time. Its roots also lead into a small lake in front of it. The lake also seems to glow and is claimed to have healing effects. Before the lake is a small open area where most rituals will be performed. It always will look like nighttime in this area since the forest has blocked out most of its sunlight. The area is protected by a special village nearby. These Raqions are dedicated to keeping the tree of life safe from harm.

CLAN LEADER
A new clan leader is usually chosen by the tree of life. This can happen when the old leader wants to retire or if the old clan leader had died. The council along with the clans’ druids will have to travel to their sacred place to perform a special type of ritual. There the tree of life will answer their question in its small lake and show them the chosen Raqion. This will always be a Raqion picked with one of the following features: good Leadership, Pure of heart, Empathetic or Determined.
Once the Raqion has been chosen the council will send out birds to deliver the message and will have to find the new leader. Once they found the Raqion it’s still the choice of the Raqion themselves whether or not they will accept the offer. If they don’t the tree will have to choose a new leader again. If they do accept the Raqion will be taken to the Capital and be crowned Leader over the clan.
It is possible that the chosen Raqion might not even be a Woods clan member at all. But until this choice has not been presented to the individual a new leader cannot be chosen. But this is very rare to happen.
RELIGION
We at the Woods clan believe in two gods. Luxona the goddess of never-ending life and Exitus the god of the afterlife. According to the Woods clan both of these watches over the Raqions and provide balance and guidance.
Luxona is represented as a goddess of birth and life. Often thanked whenever an Raqion egg hatches. She is also claimed to be the mother of Nature, making sure all things will bloom and continue their cycle in life. Being a Guidance in the current life a Raqion and other creatures will live. Some Raqions claim to have heard her voice, and it’s often said that a clan leader might be in contact with their Goddess.
Exitus is a god that represents the afterlife. Once the soul of a Raqion has met their end they will be taken by Exitus and guided to the afterlife. Their heart will be weight on a scale to see how pure and noble it was during its life. Once the Raqion passed the test they will be blessed with paradise. It’s also stated that Exitus and Luxona allow some souls to return to the earth handing them a new life.
It's said that Bad Raqions might not meet a good and peaceful afterlife and that if their heart weighs heavy Exitus will eat their soul. Condemning them to an afterlife that would have four stages of regret. These stages will be arena-like and involve tasks you need to overcome to prove you are worthy of paradise. The first stage holds demonic beings that try and tear you apart. As The second will have you face your true fears. The third will be full of voices and screams of people you have lost or who’s lives you might have taken. In the fourth you will have to face a powerful demon that holds the element you are most weak too. Only if you defeat and overcome these obstacles Exitus will guide you to paradise.

The woods clan has a big export and import with some of the other clans out there. This being mainly Lunar and Sun clan even Phantom clan at times. They might not be the best at mining and digging but they sure are the best at growing fruits and vegetables. So, some items or materials might not be mentioned here that they still do own.

Weapons, Armor and Clothes
The woods clan weapons are mainly archery based. From long bows to short ones and cross bows. This is not to say swords and other types cannot be used. Spears are like a second common weapon after all. These weapons are usually decorated with nature-based resources. From jew stones to feathers the woods clan loves to add colour to their weapons.
The bows are made of a good maple type of wood. It holds great stability, elasticity and strength. The bows usually have a height up to the Raqions Middle. Smaller bows have a height that reach up to their knees. Cross bows are made of similar woods but can have mixes of different wood types for the handle. The arrows hold metal or stone heads/grains and pine like Shaft. The Fletching is made of feathers. These bows and arrows can have their own custom dye colours.

Spears have similar metal or stone blades. The spears shaft is usually made of oak wood and covered with cloths for its handles. Swords have a metal-based structure made of the irons they find. So do not think they wield woods swords outside of practice. The swords they made can best be compared to a Falchion or Hanger types.

They don’t really use the weapons of other clans as a weapon is a tool of honor and companionship. Their weapons also tend to have nicknames more often than in other clans. They deem their tools an extension of themselves. The tools you wield are a great example of what type of person you are in their culture.

For armor and clothes. Most armors in the woods clan are a combination of wood, fabric and the Cromonium crystals. The armor is usually coloured in nature based colours. This way they blend in with their environment. The crystals can provide a bit of light in dark areas and the armor plates are made of a strong thicker type of wood. One that is harder to chop down and break. They add a soft golden-like pain to the edges of their armor. The logo of their clan is usually displayed on their cape or back of clothing. Raqions who do not wear armor are free to have colorful clothing in any way or shape. It’s possible to see other Raqions wear pink or blue, etc. They are a very open-minded clan with a lot of customs and freedom. Most Raqions in the woods clan tend to still decorate themselves with nature’s elements.

The Woods clan ranks are free to use as you desire. However, there are some you need to do a task for or need certain permission for. Higher ranks like second hand and Leader cannot be picked.
